- I am teaching community college at AB Tech in Asheville.
- What I liked the most about the MA program was the encouragement from professors to not just stop at good-enough.
- We were encouraged to take classes outside of our field to make connections to other areas and take our research beyond just the department and even the school.
- One thing that sets this program apart is the preparedness that I left with. I felt that I was ready to both enter the job market AND continue into a PhD program. Talk about a program that delivers!

- I am now teaching Spanish at a private elementary school on the upper west side of Manhattan, NYC.
- One thing I enjoyed most about the MA program at State was the TA-ship opportunities I received (spn 101 and the opportunity to go to Costa Rica as a TA).
- Costa Rica was also special for me because there I conducted my own research for my thesis project.
- I also really enjoyed working closely with my professor one on one to create and organize a thesis project I am very proud of.
