Contribute Tasks

  1. Get the software. It should already be installed on your office computer. If not, or if you want to install it at home, download the sotware here: http://apps.chass.ncsu.edu/contribute/.
  2. Install the software ...
  3. Prepare your web space as needed (One-time setup)
  4. Start Contribute
  5. "Create a connection" to your website:
    • using the following settings, if your website is in the UNITY space
      (e.g. http://www4.ncsu.edu/~jqdespai/):
      • Connection: Secure FTP
      • Server name: ssh.ncsu.edu
      • username: (YourUnityUserName)
      • password: (YourUnityAccountPassword)

    • Use the following settings if your website is in the SOCIAL space (http://social.chass.ncsu.edu/~despain/):

  6. Browse to the page in your site you want to edit
  7. Click on the EDIT PAGE tab to edit
  8. Edit the page as desired
  9. Click on the PUBLISH tab to publish your page
  10. You can also start over, using a contribute template to give your page a brand new look
