Advice to Students from J. E. Slatta

teacher My father, J. E. Slatta (Nov. 14, 1900-July 13, 1975) served as superintendent of schools and coached basketball for nearly four decades. Writing in the "1959 Demon," yearbook of Manderson, Wyoming, High School, he gave the following good advice to students.
  • For those who wish to seek, learn, and make progress--you must create a mental picture of the things you want, make your "pipe dreams" come true, and believe in a thing so firmly that it actually happens.
  • I think the greatest task of this generation is to raise a better generation. In order to do this, you must strive to learn, practice what you think is right, and help others to learn to live right.
