- You will need to bring a laptop to class and prepare in advance to take the exam using the Moodle quiz feature along with the Safe Exam Browser. Please see the class Moodle page and the practice/set-up quiz to ensure you are configured correctly.
- The exam will consist of 4 essay questions worth 25 points each.
There may be some limited choice. The questions will ask you to
draw upon your knowledge of lecture material, assigned readings,
and relevant current events.
- Answers will be graded for both accuracy and thoroughness. Most importantly-- effectively can you bring course material to bear on answering the questions in a intellectually-sophisticated manner. Answers earning a 25 will clearly and correctly answer/explain the question in appropriate detail. The best answers will fully incorporate information from readings as well as lectures (as well as current events where appropriate). Each question will have multiple parts-- make sure you address all of them.
- You should make an effort to keep your answer well-organized and focused on answering the specific questions in the prompt-- not just a memory dump. Paragraphs/line breaks actually make a difference.
- You will have 75 minutes to complete the exam
