Voice Sample Submission #1

In order to evaluate your progress related to oral proficiency, you submit
several voice samples during the semester.

Your task: Digitally record yourself reading the first paragraph on page
66 of the text and send it to me as an email attachment. Follow the steps
below if you are unsure how to proceed.

Technology Setup:

Connect a microphone to the red jack of your sound card.

Open your Volume Control (START and PROGRAMS and ACCESSORIES and MULTIMEDIA
[or ENTERTAINMENT] and VOLUME CONTROL)

Ensure that your microphone is the recording device for Volume Control
(OPTIONS and PROPERTIES and RECORDING and OKAY, then click on the microphone
SELECT box to select the microphone)

Use one of the following options to create a wav (.wav) file or any other
standard audio file:

Sound Recorder (START and PROGRAMS and ACCESSORIES and MULTIMEDIA [or ENTERTAINMENT]
and SOUND RECORDER).

Divace (in the electronic classroom you can use the Divace program to record
your samples)

Another sound recorder of your choice

Submit your sample as an email attachment. In the subject line, include
the phrase "Voice Sample #1" and your name.

Completion Date: Friday, 5 p.m.
