Arrangements and Location
Scheduling:
Schedule all of your exams now in order to avoid issues later. See full information here.
Locally:
If you live on campus or in the local area you will take your tests at the
Testing Center-Centennial Campus.
Remotely: If you live out of the area you will need to arrange to take your tests with Examity. Here is a helpful guide.

Moodle. This exam is administered through Moodle. Be sure that you have taken the Practice quiz (via the class Moodle) prior to starting the hourly exam so that you know how everything functions and that you know how to create Spanish diacritics.

Keyboard. If you are testing locally (Centennial Campus Testing), you will be using one of their Windows PCs. They will provide a sheet that is similar to the ASCII information here that you can follow to create the Spanish diacriticals (tildes and stress marks) on their computers. If you are testing remotely (using Examity) you will be using your computer. Be sure that you are following the PC or Mac information here. That is the most efficient way to create those special characters. Note: You will not be able to leave the exam to browse out and follow the instructions to install the keyboard for Windows or learn the key strokes for an Apple device.

Testing Procedure. The first page of the test reviews the Code of Student Conduct expectations for the test and asks you to verify that you understand them and that you will follow them faithfully. The test questions are on the second page of the test. Once you move to the second page the audio for the listening comprehension section will automatically begin. You will not be able to pause, stop or repeat the audio. After you complete the test questions and move beyond the second page you will not be able to return to the testing page. The third page of the exam is a review of the Code of Student Conduct expectations for the test; you will be asked to indicate if you did or did not follow the expectations. Finally, you are provided virtual space in which to take notes within the exam. If you do not put anything in these spaces, then, as you submit the exam you will be warned that you left a question blank.

Code of Student Conduct. As you begin this test we want to be clear that we expect the same standard of ethical behavior from you for this exam as we do for any other exam or assignment that you submit--We expect you to follow the NCSU Code of Student Conduct. Specifically, we ask you to verify that:

  • you have not received any unauthorized assistance as you have prepared for this exam;
  • you commit to following the honor code as you take the test;
  • you will provide a careful and thorough environment scan;
  • you will play the audio segment only once and that you will not pause/stop the audio. (Each item is read twice with normal intonation and tempo, and with enough pause to allow you to answer the questions without pausing.)
  • all books, notes, phones, flash cards, blank sheets of paper, calculators, etc. are put away and inaccessible;
  • if wear earphones/earbuds for the listening comprehension section, you will remove them once you move to the written section of the exam;
  • you will not access any of these things while you take the test;
  • you will remain in the testing environment and with your face fully visible in your webcam during the entire test session;
  • you will not communicate with anyone in any way during the test;
  • you will not talk about the test with other classmates after the test.
  • you understand that cheating on this exam will mean that you earn an F for the course.

(You will be asked a similar question at the conclusion of the exam.)

Failure to comply with any of these policies will result in the submission of a Report of Academic Integrity Violation (RAIV) to the Office of Student Conduct, with minimum recommended sanctions of a zero on the exam, academic integrity probation for the remainder of your career at NC State, and completion of the Moodle course on integrity.

Parte auditiva (All items are recorded twice; students are not permitted to control the audio; there is no pausing nor replaying the audio; there is sufficient, but not excessive pause between each item to allow you to enter your answers; you will be provided with a virtual piece of scratch paper for this section; no materials are allowed in the testing environment.)
