The project began with an internal grant from NC State which has yielded a paper on the determinants of economic development expenditures among counties in North Carolina: The Political Logic of Economic Development (under review). It is based on cross-sectional analysis of a data set in STATA format. (Here are descriptions and sources for the variables used in the data set).
