Who is Ted Greenstein?

 

Ted Greenstein is a father, husband, teacher, researcher, and author. He is currently Professor and Director of Graduate Programs in the Department of Sociology & Anthropology at North Carolina State University and holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Michigan State University and a Ph.D. in Sociology from Washington State University. Discussions and articles about his work have appeared in venues including USA Today, Newsweek, Washington Post, MS., Working Woman, MSNBC, NPR and many local print and broadcast outlets.


His research interests are broadly focused on work and family issues, including effects of maternal employment on child well-being, fairness in the division of housework, and various aspects of marital stability. His research has appeared in such professional journals as Social Forces, Journal of Marriage and the Family, Journal of Family Issues, Journal of Comparative Family Studies, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and Social Psychology Quarterly. He literally wrote the book on family research methods (Methods of Family Research, Sage, 2006).

He is an Associate Editor of Journal of Family Issuesis and has served on the Editorial Boards of Journal of Marriage and Family and Social Forces.  He is a member of the American Sociological Association, the Southern Sociological Society, and the National Council on Family Relations.
